Just for clarification what makes the "law of averages" say there are going to be cup upsets today?

Well whenever there are this many games being played as far as I can see from past cup days there always seems to be a little minnow that stands up and beats a big dog. But yes maybe using that term was a poor choice of words. betting this way will put you in the poor house fast. Just trying to start conversation and maybe find a little inside info.

Don't get me wrong mate I wasnt being an ass or anything, was generally curious - the thing with cup football is its such a hard spot to get a good read on, you see good teams not care (like Real Madrid last night as an easy example) and the odd very small team pull out a shock result - yet by the time it comes to semi finals and finals of these competitions its nearly always 2 of the best 4 sides in their respective countries that are still in them.

One way I've always looked at it is ignore the very top teams in the country since you dont know if they are going to care or not, but concentrate on the "second tier" of teams in each premier league, those who usually finish in the 5th-12th range each season, they normally play their best games because these cups are their only chance of winning a trophy.

If that makes any sort of sense lol.
