When other posters said they would wager with him once he transfers points to his SBR wallet and Rav never responded, it was clear that posting up was a huge risk and yet several people did it anyways.

This Rav guy has paid up in the past regarding these special wagers but I make it a cardinal rule NEVER to place wagers with other posters without verifying they can cover the bet if they lose. Its just simple common sense.

Smogs, you are NOT entitled to payment regardless because you never posted up the points and the OP never confirmed that he would accept your wager without the posting of points. Those that posted up points have every right to be upset but you do NOT.

Safest thing is to use the SBR contest software for a head-to-head challenge. I know the soccer lines aren't always as varied and available, but that's the only suggestion I have right now that will guarantee your points are safe.

I don't think its overly necessary to ban him tbh, if he ever does show his face again then he will get jumped on by everybody anyway now they know what he really is like. Unfortunately all people can do is learn from it, and if there are points being exchanged only do it with more "trusted" members.

In hindsight it should have raised some red flags that he didnt have enough points to honour the bet in the first place.

yisman, you of all people should know that we just don't take the time or have the resources to police all of the scammers on this site. You give your points to any poster for any reason, you're dependent on them doing the right thing and being honest. rav_himself is obviously incapable of either doing the right thing or being honest.

Willie, I have yet to meet an "honest" gambler. They will all cheat and steal at one point or another. I do see your point for not policing this sort of issue.

May I suggest that for a case like this where the offense doesn't require an investigation, you simply confiscate the points, or remove the scammer privilege to trade the points for anything. Thus rendering their points useless.
