I believe that once you know english and maybe another latin language all the rest it just peanuts, especially if you get the chance to practice

I know what you mean, the worst two for me is German and Swedish because there's loads of similarities, and both have their fair share with English. Most of my command words are French, and I don't know the English version since that's how my mom scolded me. (Example: I most of the time say 'écoutez', then 'escuchame' because I can't think of 'listen to me' when with American friends.) But at any rate, learning Russian as a Spanish speaker just seems pretty damn tough.
I learned russian with my gf basically! I mean I study about a year in the University, but that was a group of foregneirs lerning russian, 5 of us knew spanish and 3 french, and between us we spoke english
