What do you think is happening with the NBA this season? Last season i made good profit from the NBA and i'm not that expert in NBA, far from it, but by good analysis of the stats and team forms, i was able to make it a profitable season, but this year everything seems like a bit non sense to me, teams don't seem to be able to win a few games in a row, even lesse covering spreads, big favorites losing too often agains the worse teams in NBA, it seems like most of the times teams just don't care about the games, it's like it's only the paly offs that count so as long as assure my place there i just don't care about winning, that seems to be their thinking this season.

Yeah I see a lot of what you're seeing. There are also very few good road teams and I think with the unrest that just happened this past week with the trade deadline have to wait and let stuff settle. Even still, teams seem to either come out and play to their potential or don't. I've never been so tempted to just only play celtics ML in my life, I know when and where they will win and lose just really hard to predict covers. Like tonight, money says they beat Jazz, but by 4? I think so. It's when we get into those 6-9 spreads and beyond. Ridiculous.Comment -
Some people will call it parity, i think the books have just gotten a lot sharper it seems lately, their lines are tight, and things that used to be good predictors like RLM and fading huge public faves just isnt happening with as much frequency so it's harder to make those good scores like the knicks ML last nightComment -

It might be true that the bookies are getting sharper, but i think they always have been sharp or they would be out of business long ago, i think this kind of stuff happens in cycles, huge variance, that with the teams not caring so much about a lot of games might explain in part this season. That is also seen in the example you gave about ML, teams are like in a minimal effort mode, like we're winning so we don't need to keep pushing to get a bigger score, winning for 1 or 10 points is the same thing, but what i don't understand is why sometimes teams don't give it all in one game and lose because they want to be fresh for a game next day against another team, we've had examples recently with the bulls losing against a smaller team because they wanted to beat Miami, so doesn't a victory worth the same points no matter against who is it? So why lose against the wizards, because i want to beat miami or the lakers? all wins count the same right? I'm probably making stupid questions LOL but just trying to make some sense out of it
I also think NBA has far too many games, unlike NFL where every game counts, teams can't afford to lose games, that makes things more competitive IMOComment -
Agreed. I dunno cause beating a weak team doesn't really do anything for teams, it seems only the marquee matchups really matter. Teams are just terrible on the road this year too, it's like they're lazy cause the home fans can't see them so they don't try. But if the NBA has too many games, how about MLB? Haha. No new pitchers Latin, well not in the starting rotation, but really we could have four aces if Beckett and Lackey get back to form and both Lester and Buchholz were in contention for the cy young award last year so our rotation can be really strong. We have some new guys in the pen, a lot of them actually, so we'll see who pans out in spring training. Bobby Jenks should be good though, former closer, fireballer, needs to get in a groove, was in a bad situation in Chicago. Should have a strong 7th/8th/9th though between Jenks, Bardy, and Pap (even with his blown saves every while)Comment -

I know how you feel, when i lose a bet a know there's a lot of people following i feel bad about it, but that's just the way it is, all of us who give picks around here do that to help other people making money, but everyone who's on betting know there are bad days and bad streaks.
I'm always confident because i know that at the end of each season there's profit, at least so far it has been so, and i believe this season it won't be different, but that doesn't mean there's no bad days or weeks, all depends on good money management.Comment -

Hi i'm not playing that game, because it's like fliping a coin, anything can happen, it might be last chance for Chelsea to keep fighting for the Premiere league, if i really had to play i would say Man Utd ML, because Man Utd has less pressure, and to risk money in a game like that we might as well put our money in the best oddsComment -
Hey Doylfish, like i was telling Custer in the post above, it's an unpredictable game, but if i really had to play i would take Man Utd ML, but if you choose to do it, make a small play, so if it goes wrong you won't lose all that much.
There's a big question for this game, it's last chance for Chelsea to keep dreaming of winning the league, but at the same time, will they even try since the chances are too little? Or will they just concentrate on the Champions League? If so that part of Chelsea being under pressure gets out of the equation, but leaves all the motivation in Man Utd side.
