Great call Sawyer. THose who think Man u is fade material now think twice. They drew with Villareal two years ago in the opening home fixture as well. They went to the final that year. In fact in the last 4 years they havent won by more than 1 goal in openers. On the other hand in the second game they are 3-0 and +3 goals all 1 goal wins. MAn u and those types just want to get thru. The other thing is that the other teams try extra hard.

I agree Lakerboy with the thought of other teams trying hard against ManU. Everyone wants to beat the best...otherwise, what is the point of playing.

Man U is never a fade material, they have some down times, but over the course of a 50 games season, they usually cover the spread about 45-55% of the time, (data dated back to 04)

No one knew SAF was going to make 10 changes to the lineup, if I knew this I would take Rangers +2 any day. Plus MU lost Valencia to a horrible broken foot in 2nd half.

Excellent defense from Rangers. Those guys knew what they wanted (0-0) and how to get it. They were running and blocking United players kamikaze style. More than deserved draw for the Scots.

Exactly, a lot of those players we're fresh from injury or had not played for a while.

Berbatov would have held the ball up better and is currently the most in form striker. Also Rooney and Hernandez have never partnered each other.

Nani would have skinned the fullbacks all night and provided quality crosses, Park is a work horse but he can't do this.

Scholes would snapped the through balls we needed, instead we were dancing around on the edge of the penalty area and had to settle with Gibson who has no creativity what so ever.

Kind of sets it up nicely for the away leg anywhere. That wasn't Man Utd people saw last night.
