because van Marwijk completely outplay Dunga counter-attack strategy. They don't keep put pressure on Brazil when they're 0-1 down, instead, they try to make Brazil attack for more goals and create their own counter attack. Even the first Netherland goal started from counter attack...

Anyway, Brazil didn't play to make another goal! They could have beaten us in the 1st half. After a bit of luck with the 1-1 we were better and the 2nd goal was well deserved

Brazil were way to cocky in their approach to this game imo. Holland plays good football and kept focus despite being down 1-0.
Holland wont win though, but it should be an exciting game against hopefully spain.

Overrated team that has not played 'the beautiful game' for twenty years, according to Romario.

Here's the WC history between Holland and Brazil; results for 90 minutes:
                                            1974 Holland 2-0
                                            1994 Brazil 3-2
                                            1998 1-1 draw
                                            2010 Holland 2-1

Holland won twice. But that's not the point I want to make. In both defeats Brazil lost their heads, and both times a Brazilian player was sent off for an incredibly dirty foul. In 1974, after Neeskens had already been knocked out with a fist punch to his head (with no ball in sight), a Brazilian player was finally red-carded for a NFL tackle from behind... And yesterday Melo's foul may have bettered that. Many may have missed that he consciously stepped on the hamstring that had kept Robben out of the early WC games. This piece of garbage was trying to kick Robben out of the World Cup.

Jogo bonito, my ass. As soon as things don't go their way, they turn into thugs. When they score they act like babies, sucking their thumbs or some other baby-related idiocy, and when they lose they act like babies as well. lol

luck plays part. but i still stands at good strategy by Netherland. I agreed Brazil always have good football to watch. But, you can't deny Brazil under Dunga is more defensive type and the beautiful football or goals are scored from counter attack with Elano, Kaka, Robinho or Fabiano that has good pace.

Against Netherland, it does not work. Why? When they're down 0-1, Netherland does not focus on pressure on Brazil. Instead, they play like it's still 0-0. They only have at most 4-5 players on attacking end and most attacks are counter attacking from Sneijder or Robben. They only come forward on freekick/corner. It's proven effective with no more dangerous counter attack from Brazil and two goals scored from freekick/corner.

If that is not what you call outplay, I don't know what else I can say.

Brazil palyed really good in the 1st HT.

When Holland score their first goal, to tie the game (1x1), the Brazilian players lost they mind. After the second goal from Holland, they just give up to play. Just a few players still in the game. Holland have chance to score 1 or 2 more goals, but they didn't, I think that they made this in respect of Brazil.

2014 they will have a really good team, because of the great young players that they have right now. I also belive that they will have a better coach. In my opinion, Muricy Ramalho and Mano Menezes are great names.

Netherlands the better team? I must have been watching a different game yesterday. I saw a Holland team determined to win, and to flop in tackles and play dirty to do so (mind you what Melo did was pretty bad too), but they were totally outclassed and Brazil just paniced when they got behind. The worse team won, but hey that's soccer.

Talent alone does not win the cup, you need more. If just having talent was the case Brazil would be in the finals. To have a better team you need comparable talent, which the Netherlands had, not better but comparable. The other attribute needed to win is to be mentally tough, Brazil was not.
They expected opponents to roll over and play dead for them. Netherlands to their credit took the first hit, going down 1-0. They survived until the half. At that point they decided to pressure Brazil and fight back. Brazil spazzed out, as most bullies do when punched in the face.
