Thinking about putting $500 on USA to win group +175 and $500 on England to win group +125....Is this a bad idea? Baically just one of these teams has to win for this to hit and both are favored in their games

I think you got it a little mixed up.. if USA wins they depend on Slovenia to lose vs England. Go look at the table, basically this bet depends on Slovenia not winning or tying with better goal differential.
Slovenia are on 4 points = 5 or 7 points possible.
USA and England are both on 2 = both max 5 points possible.
If you see USA and England both winning, basically you gotta decide who will beat the goal differential.Comment -
