#1: Chile PK (-165) (2 Units)
In all honesty this is a great line on a way more dominant team. Chile plays a 3-3-1-3 attacking formation, with excellent playmakers, and an exciting brand of soccer. But the thing that really stuck out to me in their game against Honduras, was how quickly and efficiently all their midfielders/forwards got back on defense. Every time Honduras would get the ball, Chile's players would outnumber them in the back in a matter of seconds. These guys aren't just about their offense -- their scheme requires them to play solid defense by getting guys back and putting pressure on their opponent.
In their last 2 games, Switzerland beat Spain 1-0 and drew against Italy 1-1. In the 2 games prior, they lost 1-0 to Costa Rica, and 3-1 to Uruguay. Hmmmm.....Something about playing South/Central American teams vs playing European teams... Chile looked great in their first game, and with all the injuries that the Swiss have I expect Chile to get a comfortable 2-0 win...
#2: Spain -2 goals @ -115 (1 Unit)
This is a smaller wager. Yes, the Goal Line # sux. 2 goals? Yeah, it's a lot and Spain would need to win 3-0 for me to cash. But in all honesty, this is still the #2 (after Brazil) team in the world cup! They completely outclassed the Swiss and got a bit unlucky. Torres will start tomorrow and him and David Villa will be unstoppable against a weak Honduras team. I expect chances to come early and often, as Spain knows that they need to score goals for a tie-breaker situation. When Spain wins tomorrow (and I expect Chile to win as well), they'll be tied with Switzerland with 3 points each. The difference will be the goal-differential. That's why they will keep the pressure on all game long and I expect a 3-0 or 4-0 victory from them.
