I agree Jimmy, disappointing all around.
I only have liked Germany offense and Brazil style of play. Other than that ... they all suck
I actually liked both Koreas.

Well I hope everything I have read about Uruguay attacking more against South Africa pans out. If they get a win tomorrow, they are in a perfect spot to advance. A draw wouldn't be horrible, but it will make that Mexico match pretty tricky depending on what France and Mexico do.

to be honest, i thought today was the best so far. not so much in terms of quality, but definitely in terms of exciting games.
new zealand equalizing late against all expectations, portugal vs ivory coast was pretty decent game in every aspect and brazil having a much harder time against a real underdog. tomorrow, spain. then the 2nd round starts with a number of teams that can't afford to hold back any longer. it can only get better from here.

I just can't get into the idea that you wait around 4 years for this event and the teams come out passive, basically happy with a draw and if something does present itself, they may take the odd chance to pop one in for the 1-nil victory. Would much rather see the teams come out gunning and going for the win as opposed to being passive and sitting back hoping for a draw in these rounds. I am not blasting all teams that do this, like N. Korea against Brazil, this had to be their strategy if they had any shot and a draw for them would have been a big result but several other clubs should be more aggressive and going for the result.

I'm really disappointed with Portugal. Years ago they played great, but today I saw nothing like that. I could said the same obout Netherlands. 2 years ago in Euro 2008 they played amazing.

Australia came out gunning and were beaten 4-0. You have to realize what your team is capable of to get results.
But, yes, the big teams performances have been very bad so far.

Agree teams have to know what they're capable of achieving in terms of a result, like I stated with NK, their only shot against Brazil was to play defensive and go for the draw. However the bigger named clubs that we are expecting a lot of, with the exception being Germany, have been a major disappointment up to this point with their passive style of play and them being willing to be happy with a draw in this stage.

Yes, another oh great one to the forum that knows it all
I guess its like those players that think they're great and can turn on the switch whenver they want but sometimes it just does not work out and their then sitting at home watching, great plan, let me know how that works out.

Haha you are the one that obviously doesnt know anything, because its gonna be even worst in knockout stages because the teams are gonna be under pressure to not make mistakes and are gonna play even tighter

I've also really disappointed with the world cup. Teams are playing with the mentality of not allowing goals instead of scoring goals... and I'm not talking about North Korea or other countries with bad teams. Maybe if we have a World Cup with 24 countries the level of playing would be better but then again FIFA wouldn't make that much money and Blatter wouldn't be re-elected...

agree also, the only nice games were germany, brazil, yesterday brazil played very nice, opened and dynamic football, and as you said both korea's games were very exciting, especially north korea's game with brazil, yes they lose and more than a half of the game brazil owned the ball on the north koreas half of the field , but azians looked worthy,
P.S and what I liked most koreans palyed without simulation, as opposed to for example portugal vs ivory coast, I think ronaldo is the biggest simulator in the world, and if you saw this game there was one situation when portugalian kicked african at arm, and he grasped at head, hate simulations in sport

I thought the N Korea v Brazil match was pretty good; N Korea did well to hold them off. That first Brazil goal was impressive, though probably a fluke and not planned like that at all. I am hoping for a goal-fest today, though, as I'm regretting not backing unders on the matches so far, and want to see some proof that I'm right not to start doing that today! Otherwise, there'll be even more regret...

Almost impossible to watch between the boredom of the game itself, and every game sounds like it's being played near a hornets nest with those fukking horns non-stop, the most pathetic major sports event imaginable.

It's great sport but this WC is terrible so far. Lets hope we will see more action when some teams will have to win to stay in tournament. I also blame this shitty Jabulani ball, really good players struggle to make shot on goal with it.
