Cause the ball is ****in horrible. Almost every direct freekick results in a field goal and you see players misjudging it left, right and centre. Especially if it bounces before them.

what makes it less interesting thus far for the average viewer is that the top two teams haven't stepped onto the pitch yet. Once Spain and Brazil play and everyone goes gaga over them, things will become more interesting for average joe. I don't know how you can not enjoy watching, especially if you got some money on the game.

Savage horns + empty stands with disorganized fans = shit environment

Draws + low scoring = more boring

But it's not all bad, not as a good as Germany 06 for sure, though.

Seriously, I don't even pay attention to free kicks anymore. They aren't dangerous.

Players can't cross for shit anymore. It's distracting.

The ball is a problem at higher altitude. You can see it surprising the players, because it rolls much faster (beyond their reach), and it sails whenever they try to cross it or shoot from distance. These actions require great precision, so the effect on the quality of play is horrendous. The Germans have already been playing with this ball in the Bundesliga. They also played at low altitude in their first game.

Adidas is just f*cking stupid not to have tested this ball at high altitudes. But FIFA is the most conservative sports organization in the world, so there is no way they will move back to a better ball, like the NBA some years ago.

The vuvuzelas make it worse, because players can't communicate on the field.

Worst first week of WC I have ever seen.

The ball is horendous... just bounces away so quickly. It's like bouncing on wet grass, it just skids away.

Those vuvu-shits are annoying as. Have to watch the game on mute.

The lack of goals and quality of the goals that have been scored do not entertain fans who only watch the world cup every 4th year. Also only 2 goals have been scored outside the 18 yard box so far both due to goalkeeper howlers. Not really exciting

i dont really get it. maybe you just watch soccer every 4 years (or 2 years) for 1 month and never follow it continuously.

Vuvuzela? What's wrong with it? It is their football culture. We should respect them. I recalled I can hear similar sound in South America league matches, too. And, this might eventually put advantage on Brazil or Argentina or other South America teams if other team players are not get used to this sound.

Ball issue? Isn't this start to become popular things said by players? They are just not get used to it. That's all. I recalled there are also critics about the same thing 4 or 2 years ago (either WC'06 or Euro'08). And, if I'm not mistaken, it's Casillas again. duh

Goal problems? This is only first group matches. And in modern soccer where defense often come first and it is also group match, one point in first match is always better than nothing at all. It is actually similar with 4 years ago with Asia and Africa teams tend to defensive and certain Europe teams like Argentina, Netherland, England and France. Expect more goals in second and certainly final group matches where there are "must win" condition and "must score X goals" condition. We will also have good odds for Over

Come on guys, let's face it. Football, soccer, whatever you prefer to call it, is at stone age compared to other sports. This is a fact. Point. Let me give you few facts :

                                                      - No video arbitrage .... FIFA is at decades from other sports here. And NO, it won't slow the game. It'll penalize unsportmanslike players, see hands/arms fouls, ball crossing the goal line quickly, etc.

                                                      - Unchanged rules. Yes, they made some minor changes but no major changes to stick to the new reality. Athletes are more aggressive and strong than before. Pulling the jersey should be punished (THIS slows the game). Head hits should be punished. Why not give 2-3 min penalties out of the play for a player making a foul ? Yellow cards are meaningless. Players just don't care, they just make their fouls more discreetly.

                                                      - Player changes. 90 min running around at 100%. Unless we legalize dope, we'll never see 110% athletes throughout a game. Give the possibility to make some in-game changes.

                                                      - Stop changing ball just before each f*ckin WC ! Each 4 years, it's the same debate .... So ridiculous. Players, use your voice !

                                                      - 2 goalies, 20 players, 1 referee. Is it me or there's something wrong..... We're not talking about offsides and all this sh*t. Real fouls judgement.

                                                      - No pause when injured player. Just take him out of the field immediately. 98 % of the time, the guy is just running back on the field 5 minutes. So no severe injure, just pull him out of the game to let it continue. No more 15 feet rollin for a scratch. You're really hurt, fine, go heal yourself out of the field. Else be a man and a competitive athlete that goes beyond pain !!!!!!!

Seriously, how can you this sport is offensive when 85% of the game is played in middle field and where 85% of shots aren't accurate.

Sorry for my little displeasure but I've grown with soccer all my life (in France) and have always practice ice hockey, basketball, rugby, tennis, handball, etc., and I mean my words. This is a general lament against futchbòl, not only WC.

All your points are certainly used in other sports you follow. But, just as suggestion, like I do, I like to view it as soccer uniqueness as bad as it sounds though. I mean, as video technology is so advanced, so many rules in other sports that advantage players, we still can watch soccer like years ago with unchanged rule. Isn't that something good?

And just read the news, according to BBC, they might be doing 'Vuvuzela free' WC coverage for those that can't stand the sound.

It wont be banned though. At least this time Sepp Blatter make interesting quote. 'I don't see banning the music traditions of fans in their own country. Would you want to see a ban on the fan traditions in your country? I have always said that Africa has a different rhythm, a different sound.'

Look at messi for example, or the England game. So many great opportunities shot high, wide, or directly at the keeper. And those horns are annoying too, but not nearly enough to ruin the experience for me.

And, if I'm not mistaken, it's Casillas again. duh
