I find that the Americans who do follow soccer are very knowledgeable about the game and take it very seriously.

Soccer is the fastest growing sport in the US guys, don't listen to some people stuck in their ways around here, they are just scared of change and most are clueless about the sports they claim to follow aswell.

Scoring is not everything, no one wants from the americans to like the game.
You have enough high scoring dopamine sources like baseball and american football. Why bother hating soccer? With or without your hate or whatever you call it, football is the biggest sport ever. Betting-wise the volumes are hundred times bigger than any of the super-bowl games. The numbers here are just from betfair, in the asian market the volumes are enormous compared to any european book.

FWIW... I'm American and absolutely love soccer... I think the World Cup is the best sporting event period... but many many Americans hate it.... You dont know how often i get the sarcastic "its so much fun to watch a game go 0-0".. Very ignorant people here.

Yeah, I feel like I've been through all of these arguments for years now. Honestly I think Americans that are anti-soccer are just a little threatened by the magnitude of the sport. Clearly it's the world's biggest sport, and those in America so heavily vested in NFL, MLB, etc. are scared to see any kind of change in their own country. I understand the feeling, but that's no reason to hate. FYI, I'm American, soccer's my favorite sport, but I love almost every sport and follow most professional leagues and college sports (except for women's basketball, because, I mean, c'mon, the line has to be drawn somewhere). to those tolerant enough to put up with a stupid American from time to time.

The problem is that the majority of Americans don't even try to like the sport or give it any chance at all. Face it all your doing is looking for excuses not to like a sport. I was born in Europe and grew up with soccer, but I also love baseball, football, basketball for their own reasons. Every one of these sports brings something different to the table, and for every one of them their is positives and negatives, nothing is perfect. As some before me in this thread said, if you don't like it, simply don't watch it. If you don't like something and you keep watching just so you can feel miserable, then you are an idiot.

I actually like baseball too.

They should have more angles in TV though. I'd like to see how the play develops and where the fouls and hits go from a larger perspective, but they just show the pitcher perspective the whole time.
