#37I think Greece +172 is a decent bet here, I think it will be a close match but the Greek players have a lot more experience in bigger European competitions and I believe they have a big coaching advantage as well. Otto has won the Euro 2004 tournament and is vastly experienced. Experience + talent should do the job for Greece, predicting a 1-0 win here.
If anyone got Under 2.5 or Under 2 at good odds, I'd say you're onto a winner there too. Pinnacle now offering the line as Over/Under 1.5 and 2 so I've stayed away from that one, would have liked the security of a full push, if 2 goals were scored.Comment -

#38Originally posted by mihaita666I tend to think the koreans will have severe problems with the warm out there (the game is played at 14:30 local time) and there will be well over 30 deg Celsius. Don;t forget this. Greece is a very hot country, and Im not talking about women here, during the summer, they have 40 Celsius very often.

#40There is a big mis-match in this game, Greek strikers average height is around the 1.90 mark!
South korea average defense height is around 1.80, sure being a tall defender doesn't make you good, I mean one of the best defenders of the modern era, in his prime the best defender in the world Canavarro is only 1.75. However, most of Korea's defense plays in Korea against physically weaker and shorter opposition.
Then when you look at how many goals Korea concede from set pieces you realize its a weakness to their game, now Greece's strongest point is their set pieces and aerial ability, this creates a big mis-match and Korea have a serious disadvantage.
Greek manager is a top tactician and will have seen this advantage his team has and be looking to exploit it. Korea is likely to dominate the midfield, they are very hard working and technical with good quality midfield players. They are like another Mexico but with even less cutting edge and a worse defense.
There is value on Greece -0 @ +100Comment -

#43Greece has qualified in only 1 world cup and they got smacked in it. If was 1994 in the USA they conceded 10 goals and scored 0. They have no experience on the World Stage and I still say their impressive Euro 2004 win was a fluke.
South Korea has qualified for the WC on 8 occasions and i'll be taking my chances tomorrow with them. South Korea will look to attack the conservative defensive style of the Greek. Look for a boring game to start off the day tomorrow, the under is a good pick to but to much chalk for me.
Korea PK EVEN I like itComment -

#50Im sure korea will never lost in this game..
This game might be draw 0-0 or korea win 1-0..
I watched friendly matches of both teams,
Greek players seems tired in 2nd half..
Korean seems VERY motivated and stronger as game going on..
In my opinion, South Korea is only Asian country who can have chance to advance!!
Will be good game..
I bet $210 win $200 on South Korea PkComment -

#51I'm not saying that Greece's performance in 2004 means they will have a good World Cup. I'm saying their manager is more experienced than Korea's manager because Otto has managed in bigger games, partly due to his Euro 2004 experience. I think Greece has the coaching advantage, not only is he more experienced but he is also tactically better as well. Greece is extremely well organised and although they don't have the star names of other squads, they are capable of playing above their expected performance level.Originally posted by D3 Mighty DucksEuro 2004 was a fluke brother, Korea ML or PK not sure yet but one of those will be my play on that game.
Greece also has more players that have the experience of the playing in the UEFA Champions League, another little advantage that I believe will help, on a big stage like the World Cup.
I really think that Greece +172 is a +EV bet.Comment -

#53I posted a blog saying a good bet might be Korea ML along with an Under 1.5 goal bet if you can find it.
Forget all this 'show off the offense' for Greece. They are going to pack it in, play for set pieces like they always do. Take away the fluke Euro 2004 run and Greece last failed to win 10 of the last 12 international competition matches and has a goal differential of -25. If Greece wins, its going to be 1-0.Comment -

#54Thought i'd chime in in this game gents. First off, let me just say that I know nothing about futbol. I'm a basketball/baseball guy. I am however, Korean, and can say that some of the remarks in here about climate disadvantage to the south Korean team is absurd. South Korea gets very hot and humid in the summer and also very cold in the winter. Weather should be a non issue for this game. So the consensus in here is the under???Comment -

#55Can someone please clarify?I'm new to these futbol lines. I see south Korea ML +160 an south Korea spread PK -110. Both of these options, Korea must win right? Why would anyody take the -110?Comment -

#66Take a look at the friendly matches played by S Korea. They lost to Spain 0-1 away, lost to Belarus 0-1 away, beat Ecuador 2-0 at home, and beat Ivory Coast 2-0 away.
The Greece lost to Paraguay 0-2 at home, draw with North Korea 2-2 at home, and lost to Senegal 0-2 at home.
The friendly matches may be meaningless. But, with these results, I'm sure korea will never lost in this game.Comment -
