Can someone explain how to bet soccer?
I understand a pk is just a straight bet but most games don't offer that option? why are both teams dogs for most? and the -0.5 and +0.5 what does that wager mean?

Just google "asian handicaps explained" and read the first 2 or 3 results ... they will tell you all you need to know and a whole lot more.

Both teams are dogs sometimes because soccer matches end in a draw quite often. And you lose your bet if that happens obviously. So if you pick a team at +0.5 and they win or it ends in a draw, your bet will still win.

and pk is not a straight bet... there is a table here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asian_h...caps_and_Draws that should help, if the previous link doesn't clear it up for you. The 0 handicap = pk

Cappin be very careful when you bet soccer because unlike any other sport soccer has three houses,Team A,Team B and the worst of the Lot i.e C draw. When two strong sides are playing leaning on a draw is a good bet as even if one of them score early, draw will always be in the game because the other team will push on the attack. However, the same cannot be said abou the chalk favourites. This world cup will spring quite a few surprises,so take the dogs at times and you will make some moolah.Good luck

Can someone explain what the +150 and +170 wagers are? I understand what the draw, totals, and I assume the PK lines are just straight wagers on the teams?

Oh so the 3rd option is a spread, PK meaning like a ML, if someone can clear up the first option that would be appreciated

OK so wait, if the spread for Argentina vs Nigeria tomorrow is
                    Nigeria +1+125
                    Argentina -1-145

then what happens if I put my money on argentina and they win by 1? Do I get my money back or???

I think you get your money back, but what happens if it ends up as a draw and you have them -1?

                          It's really not that difficult.

                          Argentina -1 means
-> Win if Argentina wins by 2 or more
-> Push if Argentian wins by 1 goal
-> Loss any other result (draw, Nigeria win)

                          Nigeria +1 means
-> Win if draw or Nigeria win
-> Push if Argentina win by 1 goal
-> Loss if Argentina win by 2 or more

I fail to see how that's different to baseball, basketball or any other sport that has handicap betting (or spread betting as you call it).

                            +150 Greece
                            +170 Korea
                            +190 DRAW

Think of it as just straight ML bets however there are three possible outcomes instead of two.

If you go to the link that I posted earlier, you will understand that pk is not just a straight moneyline bet.

Ok well maybe we have different definitions of a straight bet...i thought by straight bet u meant moneyline bet, but it's not, it just means it's a push if it's a draw. Moneyline bet is 3 options - win for team A, win for team B or a draw.
