Alright, I will be keeping track of my World Cup picks in this thread. I purchased a $100 free play from BetPhoenix and I'd like to make something out of it.

#2Good luck Tommy, be careful and patient with the freeplay, altough it will last a lot until you roll it over...and apply what I've told youSoccer record (2010) : 244-160-24

#3Ok. I used my $100 freeplay on the 8 possible outcomes of a 3-way MLB parlay, risking $12.5 on each scenario. Of the 3 games I found, two of them had ML odds of -102 and -108 and the other game was -106 and -104. As a result, I'll be guaranteed no less than $77.61 cash from my freeplay, while I can win up to $83.66.
The three games are:
Twins vs Seattle (-102 and -108)
Mets vs Padres (-104 and -106)
Angels vs Royals (-108 and -102)
Worst scenario: Seattle, Padres, Angels $77.61
Best scenario: Twins, Mets, Royals $83.66
This will be a good starting bankroll for the World Cup.Comment -

#7Wow, the 3 teams I would have picked to win in those MLB games all lost. This is why I don't bet on baseball. Anyway, appears I'll be starting my World Cup bankroll with $81.02. Not too shabby.Comment -

#11Thanks for the support fellas. Got my USA World Cup jersey today. Very excited about this.
Looking at a few games already. France vs. Uruguay stands out to me right off the bat. France Money Line is -105 which looks to have good value. I don't know too much about Uruguay except that they are historically bad losers/dirty players when losing. I also know Diego Forlan had a great season with Atletico, especially in the Europa League.
My concern with this bet is on France, however. On paper, they should easily defeat Uruguay, but what France team is this? Is it the team that didn't make it out of the group stages in 2002? Are they like the 2006 team that struggled out of the gate and barely made it out of the group stage? Obviously France did very well in the knockout round, but they don't have Zidane to bail them out this time. I'd love to get input for the regulars in the soccer thread on this. I'm currently leaning heavy on France ML @ -105, because I think they just have way too much talent.Comment -

#13France will win the group, and will go though, but the only team that I donlt think they will defeat is Uruguay...Uruguay plays great, I saw them last week against Israel.Soccer record (2010) : 244-160-24

#14Watching the US/Australia friendly. Obviously I like the start of this game with Buddle scoring 3 minutes in, but this game will give me a great look at the new ball. Seems like every keeper is complaining about this ball, and I understand why. So far it looks like this ball is swerving much more than your normal Premiership ball. I remember keepers complaining about the ball in 2006, and they had every right seeing as how 2006 seemed to produce some amazing goals. Torsten Frings' goal in the first game of the Cup always sticks out to me. Anyway, I think this makes betting overs a lot more appealing.Comment -

#17One of Korea DPR's strikers just said he plans on scoring a goal every game, and claimed his team and Brasil will be the teams to go through in their group. Highly laughable, but I hope they do play some attacking football against Brasil. My gut's telling me it'll be a game where Brasil scores at will.Comment -

#19Friday World Cup Play:
Creating an Asian Handicap on the France v Uruguay game. I may be using a few of this AH's, as I feel it's a conservative way to make some bets that will help me reach my rollover requirement with less variance.
France ML $10 to win $11.20
Draw $10 to win $21.00
Obviously I'll be pulling for a draw here.
