Adriano is from the slums, its likely he's still got relatives and old friends still stuck there so when in Rome do as the Romans do. He was seven when he first saw a guy get shot dead, his dad was shot in the head when he was 10 in a shoot out and most people he grew up with are in gangs or dead. His fathers recent death pushed him over the edge and he's only recently recovering.
