Thanks. Interesting article. I think he wants to see an Argentina with quick pinball type combinations through the center of defense, like their 78 team. So if he doesn't care too much about using the wings, he has less need for attacking backs.

He may have a decent chance to win with that tactics. I prefer Pastore over Veron though. Veron is to prone to being sloppy and kick the ball into the feet of the opponents defenders.

Maradona is a whack job, and giving him control of the team was the biggest mistake in their football history. He's not a coach, he's a legend. They need a tactician like Hiddink to run that talent, not a coked out freak who acts like Hugo Chavez on the bench.

10 years is a really long time. Remember how a buck toothed guy was the king of the world 4 years ago. Defenders will rough him up in the coming years, he will slow down. Won't be the hottest then and wont get in every team.

Benching Messi, would take away the pressure from Messi to be the answer to this team. I guess this might work out if the actual starters take them to the second round. Which I dont see any reason why not.
