There can be changes to increase the amount of action there is in the game like other high action sports, but sadly FIFA is too conservative to change anything. Some matches are more exciting than others (ex. star players, more at stake etc...) so you can't generalize the boring side of it to the entire game.

I don't necessarily (I have to google that word every fkn time) want it to be an 'high action game'. I can thoroughly enjoy a tactical 0-0 battle (I am probably the only one who thought the CL final 03 between Milan and Juve was an absolutely fantastic game of football). Or take Inter's recent display at the Camp Nou. I don't think you find that in any other sport. Of course the high scoring dramas can be great as well (Chelsea v Liverpool 4-4 in last year's CL comes to mind).

Generally I find high-scoring sports boring. Like Basketball or Handball. I mean, what's the point in finishing a game 123-121? Could have just stopped at 2-0 and saved the players a lot of time running up and down.

Just joking.. but the gameflow just doesn't appeal to me. And apart from the terrible refereeing I don't think there's anything that FIFA should change about 'the beautiful game'.

If your putting money on a sport why do you care if its boring or exciting, is this a sports appreciation or a capping forum, its no wonder half the posts in some parts of this forum revolve around, "i just lost it all", "i'm on tilt", "i'm quiting..... 2 weeks later i'm betting the house again".

Some people find fishing exciting other people find it boring, some guys like fat chicks some guys like sheep, whatever floats your boat.

Once You have idea of the formations, tactics, have seen different player skills I wouldn´t say that it´s boring. Low scores make the goals special but it´s not all about goals. Good defence is also fun to watch.

how many of you played it on real pitch ? it's much harder than you might think (if you reall play it, not just shoot the ball for fun). It's a very nice sport to watch even if you have no action on it, especially EPL and UCL matches. I'm sure the WC this year will make it more popular among Americans.

I use to watch;Basketball, Football, baseball all my life, until soccer entered my life and took over.

Baseball is unbearable now. Football is still cool, but I'm not crazy about it like I use to be. Basketball is now...meh.

Many people never run 6-8 miles in their lives let alone on a soccer pitch where you have to run forward, dribble, pass, shoot then switch to running backwards or sideways to defend, use your head for headers, your feet for tackles without committing fouls etc. It's so easy for them to play the game they just never try to play it.

yeah i agree.....its boring regularly...but the atmosphere is something else during the world cup...its more exciting
