Messi is the better player. He is more mature, has a healthier life style and more respect for the game, which will allow him to play at a high level until the end of his career. Ronaldo's tabloid life and his love for parties will put its mark on his game eventually. Messi is clearly a smarter player on the field, while Ronaldo knows only to dribble his way out of trouble and doesn't give as many key passes or always pick the easier path to goal. The only plus for CR is that he performs well in the Premier League, while I don't see Messi to be such a great player if he would ever play in the physically demanding English League.
