Godoy Cruz renew their league campaign after a tune up at Argentina powerhouse Boca Jr's on Jan 14th, a game they won 3 - 2. They are 5 wins and a draw in their past 6 at home , all of which were against better competition then Chacarita. Their is no recent history to draw from with these two teams since Chacarito are newly promoted from the 2nd division. They have looked every bit the minnow that they are in the Superliga this season. Although Godoy are only worth an estimated $18 million in transfer value ( ranking them as a bottom third team in the league ) they are still well above Chacarita who draw up the rear in Superliga with a mere $6 million. Chacarita are also battling injury concerns over both Gagliardi and Madula in their midfield today. Godoy are healthy , rested , and do not have any scheduled games until next Friday Feb 2nd. I see Chacarita remaining winless on the road ( 1 draw 4 losses ) and having a difficult time finding scoring opportunities.

Its a graveyard for many a great team , be it in South American competitions or internationally. Remove the huge home factor and its an entirely different story. In their last 12 road games, Oriente have only registered a single win ( 1W - 4D - 7L ). U. de Deportes are beasts on home soil ,as they are undefeated in their past 12 ( 10W - 2D - 0L ). They are in need of a win that overturns a 2 goal deficit , it should be very lopsided.

Two teams heading in opposite directions. While Villareal are building on their European experiences and finding their form domestically , Real Soceidad are in free fall mode. Villareal currently sit 4th in La Liga , only 1 point in arrears of Real Madrid , whom they recently defeated 1 - 0 in Madrid. Real Soceidad are in 15th place and fighting for relegation survival. In their past 9 games , Soceidad are a dismal 1 - 1 - 7 and confidence is waning. A trip to Villareal and a very raucous home crowd wont help matters. A bit surprising to see the home side at such favorable odds considering the fact that they have no new injury concerns , while Soceidad look to be without another key midfielder in Zurutuga.

Marseille are the " in form " team in France at the moment. They are undefeated in 6 straight , and in 12 straight at home in all competitions. They have not conceded a goal on home turf in 5 straight and played in the French Cup on Jan 23rd with a makeshift line up at lowly Epinal ( a 2 - 0 road win ). While Marseille were resting key players , Monaco were involved in a battle at home to Lyon , a game that they eventually lost 3 - 2 . The cup match was on Jan 24th and Monaco were starting their " A " team based on the level of competition. With a rested Marseille , and an extra day off over Monaco , i really love this spot for them.

They did play in the Chilean Super Cup ( League vs Cup winner from 2017 ) vs Colo Colo on Jan 26th , losing 3 - 0 in spite of an early red card in the 2nd half to Colo Colo. Melgar travel to Chile off a friendly vs Once Caldas on Jan 24th ( a decisive 3 - 0 victory ). They recently finished 3rd in Peru"s " Clasura ", as well as winning Peru's " Torneo de Verano ", and are riding a 12 game undefeated string in all competitions. I really feel as though Melgar are the better side, regardless of the venue.
