Very tough away game. None of the other top 6 teams in the league have beaten them at their stadium, so it will definitely be difficult. Liverpool also played a tough game in Benfica at thursday. But good luck on your play and I hope it hits.

If you're gonna bet "Pool PK" don't bet at all and go find another game, what value is in that bet seriously? Risk the ML or handicap knowing how badly Liverpool are fighting for 4th spot, Birmingham have nothing to play for other than pride.

This season in PL:
Liverpool at home 12-2-2 with 40-13 goals for/against
Liverpool on road 4-4-8 with 13-19 goals for/against

Birmingham has lost only twice at home in the PL.

I really think you have to consider their last game and their form at the moment. The road stats you put up did not include Torres, Johnson, Gerrard, Benayoun and other key players fit and playing together. Sunderland just beat Spurs 3-1 yesterday, but they lost 4-0 to Liverpool last week. The only thing going against Liverpool at the moment could be the Benfica game, but I'm sure they want the 4th CL spot much more.

This is the same logic that made me open a thread about betting on the Chelsea ML.

I can easily see Birmingham being just as motivated. This is English soccer. Lot of tradition, pride, and hard fight.

Recent results? Birmingham 3 draws and two wins at home. Liverpool 2 draws and 3 losses on road. Throw in fatigue from traveling to Portugal.

Big home field advantage in this game. It's soccer. Liverpool can always win, but I wouldn't bet on it.

Birmingham has been solid at home. Had the week to rest while Liverpool had a tough match at Benfica. Liverpool also has the return with Benfica coming up. Birmingham + 1/2.

Birmingham City +0.5 at +112. Liverpool hasn't beaten them in the last seven meetings. Liverpool has lots of trouble scoring on the road in the EPL. I see a draw or a slim Birmingham win perhaps. Liverpool hasn't stopped disappointing on the road yet, so taking them -1 is ballsy.

What an embarrassment they are this year. Sorry to say I don't think there is much of a chance for Rafa to be there after this season. Watching him pull Torres today was hilarious and seeing his and Gerrard's face when it was happening.

It was only fitting that N'Gog missed two fairly easy chances after replacing Torres.
