2 seasons ago, at the end of Feb 08, Man City lost to Everton 0-2 at home. Their next game was against, guess who, Wigan! It was a home game and they could only draw 0-0 with Wigan.

Fast forward to the present day. Man City lost to Everton 0-2 at home last week, their 1st home loss of this season's premiership. Tonight they are hosting Wigan.

So many similarities. The loss at home of 0-2 against Everton. And then a home game against Wigan next.

If history were to repeat itself, it will be a 0-0 draw tonight.

Besides, Man City lost at home for the 1st time this season and in doing so became the last team in the league to lose a home game. I would think that they'd love to go unbeaten at home for the season, and having come so far, that loss to Everton must really sting.

Coupled with the distraction of the Eastlands row, I think that the teams' morale has to be pretty low. Just look at Everton, they could only manage a feeble 0-0 draw with Wolves at the weekend. If the distraction affected Everton, it can affect Man City too. They will bounce back, but not so fast, at least not against Wigan tonight.

Best bet for me is to take the under 2.5, wigan+1.5, draw option and a small wager on pick the score of 0-0.
Good write up mate, but you are forgetting that this year's Citeh team is completely different from last season's. As much as I loathe City, can't see them losing twice in a row at the Eastlands, especially with 4th spot still for their taking and this fixture must be considered a 'must-win' for them. And I don't think the Adebayor return makes much of a difference since City play a better game with the Tevez/Bells partnership.

2-0 City...I agree though that it might stay under the total as the last 5 meetings at the Eastlands have not produced more than a goal.

What does rain have to do with this match? This is England, there's raining almost every day Also, wind shouldn't be that big of a problem because of the way stadium was built.

Rain makes the games a lot better, it's a total contradiction to NFL, rain makes better football. If you are a true footballer you love playing it rain, it's the best conditions

Yeah, but I read that it's supposed to be "Heavy rain". You don't think it will have a significant impact on the game?

If it wasn't for the heavy rain prediction - I would take City -1.5 for 3 units - seeing as how everyone likes Wigan

Yea, ball will be slippery and goalkeepers will have big problems with catching the ball and hopefully we will see over 2,5 goals. I don't see nothing bad here

We need only three shots (that will score)

Good point, with Wigan's terrible defense, I think Tevez can knock in 3 of em by himself

Man city should take this one by at least 2 goals.

                                  Oh, he's a lovely bloke.

Remember a match from 2 years ago when he was the ref between derby and nottingham forest. One hell of a injury time. Derby scores, Atwell disallows it, there was a handball which noone saw except him, penalty. Goalie saved the penalty, derby scores again on the ensuing corner, but oh no, forest got a free kick for some reason.

Forest takes their free kick quickly, they are 2 against 1 at the other side(keeper not included), but wait, Atwell now stops play when they're at the other side of the pitch. Apparently he hadn't given his permission for the free kick to be taken.

                                    Thanks for the referee info.

This is a must win for City and they are tough at home, but City never does things the easy way if you follow them at all. Will be sitting this one out and rooting as a City fan.

forget this then, if anything I'll parlay the two English o2.5's for a small amount (City game and Newcastle game)

I have to admit I havent seen him ref since wigan/stoke game. that was bad reffing. Looking at his latest results while reffing, he doesnt look too bad. maybe he got better?... I wouldnt change your mind on your bet tho because of this. if city wins, Dont want you to say i should have bet it.....
                                          Ill be watching this one...
i just dont think he deserves a premier league reff position. i dont know how he got to where he is.
i hate him tho and have read that players hate when he is reffing.

Man City wins SU. Whether they cover the 1.5-point spread is another thing altogether. But I think this looks like a 3-1 win for Man City.

City playing pretty badly, if Wigan had a little more quality to at least hit the target when they aren't being shut down they'd be 2-0 up right now. This is why Everton won last time.

They play like a ****ing Championship relegation team pretty much the whole ****ing game, then score 2 goals right off the bat. ****ing ridiculous.
