#2None of the games today were a fix, a few groups who understand how the markets work applied it to the betting exchanges and created artificial market manipulation.
There have always been fixes in football but not every game people think is a fix is rigged.
Oh and good news for anybody who likes to follow fixes, Moggi is plotting a comeback to JuventusComment -

#4way too many
Money makes people do crazy things.
If I lived in Austria and I made a team, I'd rig the shit out of it to increase my/my friends/and family's paycheck
would have to be smart about it but retirement would come early.Comment -

#7I've been saying this for years. How could a sportsbook be a sponsor? It's totally ridiculous. I've also noticed bet365 in a sponsor in CFLComment -

also if you won all your bets youd raise some eyebrows as well.
It would take some time to think of the best strategy to go about it, but im sure it could be done.Comment -

#13i still couldn't see what's wrong with it. i remembered this is just trend in recent years (if not mistaken, i start noticing it from middlesbrough or sevilla), mayb because of financial crisis make no one, except the betting companies want to put the advertise, after all they r the ones who will have benefits n mayb not affected by the crisis.
n talking bout these last min goals (80-90), actually depends on how you think you can use it. like when watching sevilla game, i dare myself to take 1.5 goals late in game when the odds r 3, n there you go. compared to starting odds before the match (~1.3), the value is certainly there.Comment -

#14You can't win a lot from fixed games in the most popular books cause they have very low limits like bwin for example. The money are made in the asian markets.Comment -

#17The fact that people want to fix games is obvious, they want more money. This will always be this way.
The problem lies in the unjustice of the salaries. It is incredible hard for a referee to come by with the money they earn. In my country, the Netherlands referees earn between 500-1000 a match. This might seem like alot but you can't do it more than 2-3 times a month since there are alot more referees than matches. So every referee who is not doing Uefa and/or Fifa matches has to work a second job. Now im not arguing that this will always result in fixed games, but there always will be somebody tempted by the money they offer (way more than a year salary).
Same story for alot of the second division players, when you start out you get the minimum. Lots of thes youngsters will be eager to earn some quick cash. Especially when they know they will never reach the top.
I was suprised by the Chievo - Catania match though. Not by the referee but by Maxi Lopez. Maybe he just made an incredible stupid dive with a unfortunate timing. Anyway he shouldnt be motivated by money since he played 2 years for Barcelona on the bench.Comment -

#18They are even reserve and junior leagues created with the honest purpose for training up young talents, but the fact that these leagues are poor and the players often wait for salaries for months, turn the whole league in huge moneymaking betting syndicate.Comment
