Steaua has a new coach, Ilie Dumitrescu. Dumitrescu is a former player of Steaua, symbol of the team and one great remember of golden national team of Romania from World Cup USA 1994. Although his history on the club and his attachement to the club is highly appreciated, he has trained 12 teams in 9 years, with every team NOT finishing in the first 10 places. His first coached team was Otelul Galati, which he saved it from relegation in 2000 - 2001. Then he moved to FC Brasov and he was dismissed after two months.

December 2001, Ilie signs with Cyprus team Alki Larnaka, from which he did quit after four months even if the staff wanted him to stay.

Aug - Oct 2002 - he signs a contract with Romania Under national team. He resigns after being defeated by Norway and the qualify for Euro 2004 was compromised

Oct 2002 - May 2003 - signs with FCM Bacau but he quits before the last round of the season. This is the last romanian team he trained.

Jun 2003 - Jan 2004 - he signs with Apollon Limasol after that is called to train AEK Athens and he accepts. He quits AEK Athens in May 2004.

Jan 2005 - May 2005 - coaching Aigaleo, then he coaches Akratitos (june - oct 2005), Kalithea (oct 2005 - feb 2006) and PAOK Salonic (feb - oct 2006).

His CV is not recommending him at all. This is his first match with Steaua. He'll change just three players from the team Victor Piturca made. Razvan Stanca, goalkeeper of Steaua will miss after being suspended due to red card. His place will be taken by Tatarusanu. Pacurar will be changed with greek forwarder Pantelis Kapetanos (one of the most efficient strikers from last season). What's else to say it's the goalkeeper of Branesti is Cernea, former goalkeeper and devoted player of Steaua Bucharest, well known to entire world after receiving the Tonto Gol (own goal) of Banel Nicolita in the match with Real Madrid. For me this match is a NO BET, Steaua will play thursday on home court the first round from Europa League Play-Off Qualifiers with Grasshopers Zurich. So ... hard times for them.

I'm @ work guys, cannot watch the game, but i think Steaua played without coach even if they wan. We should see the match with Grasshopers. That's the one which counts for me. Victoria Branesti don't have any motivation this season, just promoted and their objective is not to relegate.

stancu is a very talented player. he is now the second goalscorer of romania, with 4 goals in 4 matches. #1 is Eric from Gaz Metan Medias, one of the two teams (the other one is Otelul Galati) who impressed everybody in this start of the season.
Steaua played better than the difference shows, we had over 4-5 big chances to score, while Branesti didn't have a single chance. Both penalties were ridiculous, absolutely nothing at both actions.

I think Steaua will win on thursday.

I'm leaning towards Zenit. French teams are usually not good on the road and Zenit are on a 16 game unbeaten run, if I'm not wrong.

I really like over 2.5 in the Werder Bremen vs Sampdoria game, Sevillia on the road are not always the best, they screwed me up on several occasions, I am actually considering taking Braga straight up or Anderlecht. We will see what happens.

Yes Mihaita, I am.. and I have been following your thread for a while now, keep up the good work . I bet a few games from each league in Europe & South America + MLS and also baseball, a big fan of hockey, and some nfl games. Busy all year long
