DJ, it's a great tournament. However, I don't like these tournaments where 2/3 of the teams advance (based on 3rd-place rule). 16/24 (and 32/48 in World Cup).

Makes for a different dynamic. I would much prefer a LONGER group stage and a MORE CONDENSED knockout stage. How awesome would the World Cup be with eight 6-team groups with 2/6 of the teams advancing?

*Heart-breaker for Zimbabwe. Very late Salah goal makes it 2-1 for Egypt.

It's been a good tournament:
1) I think the DR Congo fan stole the show w/ Lumumba tribute.
2) Not a TON of upsets. More of power-teams showing their strength.
3) Morocco looks primed to win it. 1* MOROCCO to win Cup 3.00: 1 to win 2.00.

A lot of INTERESTING matchups in Rd of 16. Not sure I see many upsets:
*Maybe the most interesting match to me = IvCoast vs Burk Faso. Neighboring countries, a lot of familiarity.
