SBR's Gary Pearson shares his Inter Milan vs Fluminense picks for Monday's Round of 16 match:
Inter Milan vs. Fluminense prediction: Fluminense to advance (+270 via FanDuel)
Over/Under prediction: Under 2.5 goals (-142 via FanDuel)
Best player prop pick: Lautaro Martinez anytime goal (+165 via FanDuel)
"Inter Milan vs. Fluminense has all the makings of a defensive slugfest, with both teams finding ways to slow proceedings and suffocate the opposing attack.
With new manager Cristian Chivu at the helm, Inter Milan haven't been at their best at the Club World Cup.
However, they're usually rock solid defensively, and I don't see that changing overnight. Inter have allowed more than one goal in one of the previous five matches, which came against the cutthroat and nightmare-inducing PSG attack in the Champions League final.
Fluminense, meanwhile, have kept four clean sheets in their previous five, including in two of their three Club World Cup encounters. They allowed more than two goals only once in their last nine matches, against Ulsan in the group stage.
I don't expect that uncharacteristically sloppy defensive performance to resurface in such a meaningful match.
My prediction is a 1-1 draw after full-time, with Fluminense advancing on penalties. However, I'm playing the Under as my primary bet."
