New Year, New Picks. I'll very rarely post more than one bet per slate of games and i would say this is a good pick, but of course i would say that given my pessimism of Boro
Middlesbrough v Man City
Man City -1 @ 2.12 for 1 Unit Risked
When i handicap a game, i always consider why a bet might lose, and in this game, i see no way for Middlesbrough to keep this close. We have no goal threat except Adam Johnson, and he will be playing the wing today. Not only that but a complete lack of defence and a failure to play as a team has seen us drop so far down the table that we now see ourselves next to the likes of Doncaster and Barnsley. No offence to those teams, it just takes some getting used to. Man City are lucky in that they have a manager who, dpesite all the injuries, appreciates the FA Cup. Tevez will start, who is in fine form at the moment and leads the line for City who want to give the competetion its due and go for winning it in May. On the flip side, i have no idea what Strachan is thinking, and i dont think he does either. It is estimated their will be 12,000 fans in today, a disgrace given our past record in this competetion, but a sign of how the fans are turning their backs. The 4/5 for a 0.75 handicap is a steal and because we have no links left to McClaren and our very good cup runs, that Southgate managed to follow on with Quarter final runs, a defeat looks inevitable today
