    Basic Soccer Betting Question
    Hey everyone,
I'm new to soccer betting so this is probably a dumb question, but what is the difference between betting on the moneyline and betting on -1/2? You lose both bets in the case of a draw right?

NO, they are not the same. Lets say if you bet Team A to win on the straight moneyline where there is a price for draws and the two teams tie. YOU LOSE.

If you play the goal line and say you have Team B +1 goal and the two teams tie, YOU will win your bet.

The 1/2 goal only helps if you take the team that is getting the 1/2 goal. This way you can win if the teams tie.

Yea, but as far as - 1/2 and moneyline, they are the same. So go with the better odds.

I understand that. My bigger question is is betting on -1/2 any different from betting the ML on the same team? It seems they are the same, which is why I'm wondering why I see different prices.

like wilforth said. they are the same thing. just take the better price. i dont know why books have different prices sometimes. i think it has to do with the money cominging in for both the ML and the spread and adjusting accordingly

It's probably a good FAQ question.
Some bookies apparently think you're too dumb to notice this, so they offer different lines for actually the same bet. Most evidently at 5dimes (with often major differences), but also at several Asias.

Asian Handicap have less profit margins, thats why the -0.5 gets a better price sometimes.

                  Not necessarily and not everywhere.
There are often cases, where the 1x2 line is better than the corresponding AHC.

It's simply a minor software issue (and obvious incompetence) when compiling the odds, but you should simply always check both lines and take the better one.

No, in this case he is talking about three-way betting where draws lose if you bet the side. Always take the better price as the three-way line is simply a -0.5 line on that team.

Many novices get fools by soccer lines. The 90-minutes plus injury time being another case in games with added extra time.
