    VAR
VAR has to be the worst thing ever implemented into sports in my lifetime to date. It has absolutely ruined soccer in my opinion and has taken out any excitement of celebrating a goal. I will be on Flashscore waiting for the red blinking dot, it will light up pink and a couple seconds later stating GOAL, only to have it 8 minutes later stating CORRECTION will pop up taking the goal away. I honestly couldn't imagine watching soccer live anymore, either in person or on TV, you can't even celebrate when it happens because the majority of the time it's going to VAR. I hate this world of perfection, where people are like at least we get it right; FK that. Newsflash these athletes aren't perfect (even if they think they are) and neither are the refs, call the game to the best of one's ability and let the excitement of celebrating a goal without the fear of having it called back. Perfectionism is a character defect yet all the sports we used to love have tried to be perfect and in doing so have ruined sports for the fans. Instant replay in football, hockey and baseball is same shit but in soccer it just seems so much greater in ruining the sport. Just my rant on the topic. And I wouldn't follow any of this garbage anymore if I didn't have action on it, that's how bad it has become.

I like VAR but hate the extra extra extra time they have implemented for injury time. Oh and water breaks.

See I like extra time because for some odd reason it seems goals come during this time. I mean I understand at towards to end of FT with team opening up if trailing but doesn’t make since before HT but I always see a ton being potted right before the break in stoppage time.

No comment on water breaks, I tend to stay away from South America action because I suck at it.

I love VAR. If NFL had VAR the Chiefs wouldn't be playing in the Superbowl next week.

I get annoyed by it sometimes. But think I still prefer it better than big errors we used to see a lot.

Would prefer refs to call offside by eye in real time though.

Several leagues in Europe are ditching it, that may continue.

I play mostly over totals, as you know, and I used to not mind VAR because obviously it catches stuff that officials on the field don't (like other sports). What I have a problem with, and it seems to have gotten out of hand like other major sports, is splitting hairs. If you have to take 5 minutes to determine if it was offsides than it should be play on and goal should count. On some of these matches, especially in Europe lately, a good number of calls by VAR are borderline screaming fix. No way with that technology does it take 5 minutes for a review and, again, if it takes that long the goal should count. Many of these so called "offside" by VAR are complete bullshit. It always seems to come at the worst possible time as well. I have seen numerous disallowed goals at the end of matches which always seems to favor the "top or popular" team. It is ridiculous anymore. If it is blatantly offside or the player got an advantage by all means take the goal away but a good number of these are not that.

                My feelings exactly.

I mean how did they even play the game 20 years ago, let alone 50 years ago right?

I have to admit VAR makes for great sweating experience. It's a goal, no it's offsides, no it's not... VAR... YES!!! no.... oh!!! Crap!!!

This reminds me of UberEats 'creating football to advertise food delivery' series of ads. Maybe VAR was also created to promote FanDuel and bet365

I’ve been burned so many times because a shoelace was touching a blade of grass offsides.

It is so true, I had one the other day where I bet a small division and I lost on a goal taken late that was reviewed for almost 10 minutes. I watched the replay and froze it right before the kick. The one player called for offside wasn't even close to being offside other than possibly a piece of his hair blew up as the kick in was made.

I stopped betting soccer mostly because of VAR and these assholes kick the ball 100 feet over the net almost every time. They are supposedly professionals.
