AFC World Cup Qualification
Just a fun bet for me
So North Korea likes to fix a lot of matches. Some of the results are really blatant and funny. But when it comes to the World Cup, they tend to take things seriously.
The Intercontinental Cup in July, they looked like they were going to match fix but after opening round loss to Syria, they beat India convincingly then Tajikistan twice to win the Cup. So looks like they were getting some good preparation in.
This is first match for international team at Kim Il Sung Stadium in over a year and they're also in the same group as South Korea so I think we get their very best effort here to ensure they're in good shape to advance.
North Korea has both European based players in their lineup, Jong Il-Gwan (Luzern) and Pak Kwang-Ryong (St. Polten) and also J-League player Ri Yong-Jik. I think this is pretty strong compared to Lebanon's team which is almost all domestic league players.
These teams met earlier this year in the Asian Cup which Lebanon won 4-1 but North Korea definitely threw that match in comical fashion. So maybe there's some added incentive there too.
