    Soccer rookie mistake at 5D
Been following the shitty duck for the last couple weeks on 3rd world soccer plays, he's been en fuego and more often than not I get a few nice open parlay's started for the weekend, not sure how he does it, but really don't care, just been morning hobby to tail his picks. Rookie mistake - logged on to Dimes to tail is 'lost' boys pick this afternoon, couldn't get a good price for the over so decide to ad lib a bit with the 'team to advance' offer....looked good to me because it had the 'includes extra time and penalties' clause, just assumed at that point that this game could not end in a draw.....so zero research on my part later, I played a good number on the Boys (that +140 should have been my sign right there)....they draw, the other team advances and I lose....no big deal other than why did 5D put the disclaimer 'includes' on that line? only legit reason I can think of is that if maybe the 'draw' score was a lot higher and differential was a factor....I have no clue. Rookie mistake. Dimes did something similar this last week with a PGA first round leader bet....had the 'dead heat rules apply' disclaimer attached to the bet, I thought nothing of it since I had been paid fully on numerous other similar bets....there was a tie after the first round and my payout was 1/5th of what I'd been expecting.....nothing's ever easy offshore!! Rookie out, rant off!

It was the second game in a 2 game series and if the final score in the match had meant they were equal over the two legs, then they would have played extra time and a penalty shootout if needed.

That's why there was a To Advance option.

Thx for the insight Opti! so had they played to a draw at a different score (whatever the magic number was) then they would have went to extra time?

Are you referring to the Swiss club Young Boys?

The 1st leg in Switzerland was a 2-2 draw.

If the 2nd leg today was a draw, then aggregate score is tied so they go to who had more away goals.

Since Red Star scored 2 away goals, 0-0 or 1-1 today would mean Red Star advanced.

3-3 or higher would mean YBB advanced.

If 2-2 at end of regulation, then game would go to penalties and/or shootout. Away goals applies in extra time as well.

          Yes.

Looks like asiagambler has the magic numbers there.

Thx AG, that makes my loss a bit more palatable knowing it was strictly due to my ignorance of the soccer world....lesson learned. Appreciate the feedback!
