    Is my sample sufficient?
I'm fairly new to sports betting so my questions may seem naive. Sorry for that.

    1) I developed a system based on 9 seasons (from 2009/2010 to 2017/2018) and tested it on 2018/2019 data. My question is is my training set (which consists of 9 seasons and about 2000 games) sufficient to rely on it?

    2) While backtesting the system, it yielded positive results on French Ligue 2 and Bundesliga 2, and negative results in Spanish Liga 1/2/3 and Italy Serie B. Is it OK for a system to have positive yields in some championships and negative ones in others? Can I bet on this system in Ligue 2 and Bundesliga 2? Or it is mostly a chance that the system has a positive yield in those divisions?

You started a thread that asked the forum " is my sample sufficient ? ". How can anyone answer that question without knowing the details ?

The system looks at previous x games and scored and conceded goals of both teams, let's say.

You mentioned France and Germany D2. Both the German and French Leagues ( 1 & 2 ) tend to see a lot of goals over other European Leagues. France L1 has been the highest scoring league the past 2 seasons ( among Europe's elite leagues ). The German Bundesliga isn't far behind as #2. The biggest problem for me , as a bettor , is that both leagues are highly juiced on Over 2.5 goals. I tend to throw them in on 2 team parlays if I find a wager I really like , and add to the payout with a 1.35 to 1.60 range ). If you have taken the time to research the past 9 years in any league , I think you have a very solid background to create a proper " trend " or " system ".
