WC governing body is FIFA , so stats from them is very strong case, what ever "sources" they are using.
you have to try again, record your chat conversations, after you have done everything possible to resolve your situation and still believe you are in right, you can register for free help from IBAS. unless your bets wasn`t 5 digit , even then they might help you , but it will be more complicated...

i have sent mail and text message from their site , they didnt answer. used live chat and someone showed me whoscoared.com statistics and went out of chat. then i called em and the girls sad another sourse that i cant remember, she said that they are getting stats from them.

its from their rules... so if you provide official FIFA stats ...you are right,
no harm to livechat again with them , ask for what statistics they are using and ask, what are rules for "total shots" settlement in soccer, as on FIFA page its 25 "attempts" but on and off target shots combined are 8+9 ...17 ...

opta are taking their data from fifa, if you go on opta page , their links for match stats refer to fifa...
only difference could be in... "total shots" by bet365 definition against fifa "attempts" definition ...
you can go to opta page and enquire stats from argentina game at a bottom of page, ask for total shots data specifically, @ company name, type whatever ... could take a day probably, but worth a shot

you should of mention that WC governing body is FIFA not opta stats website...
you could ask opta themselves, are they producing stats themselves or taking from fifa...

anyway, bet365 can use and are using OPTA stats, they have a partnership and that`s legal. in small print, bet365 is not liable for wrong game stats provided from their source : in this case OPTA.
so if opta sends you back 24 shots you have 2 options, say nothing, get your bet refunded....
or refer opta to check fifa stats , maybe they will change their number...
