Why are Money Line and the " -1/2 " in soccer odds different ?

Case in point : In today's Netherlands vs Bulgaria game, the Dutch are favored to just win , by - 317 ( 5dimes) on the money line and if you wanna get them at -1/2, the odds are at - 339. You would think it has got to be the same. There's no extra time in group play or anything. It's almost never the same, but usually differs by a little, today is a bigger gap than normal.

The AH & ML usually differ at even the same book but both wagers are the same usually I would get 1.93/-107 on THE ML & 1.98/-102 on the -0.5 AH thus i always check both prior to posting my wager

its a good point i never really understood this either.

It might be just because they are different markets, they will be handled differently.
Id guess the AH will be the "correct line" in most cases

They are at the same book. Both at 5dimes,right next to each other. It is strange, but they have a purpose I would think. I 'm sure it's not a mistake, because they never match.

i think its because they are adjusted automatically as action gets in, because it should be the same as they are the same bet

Its the same case for double chance and draw no bet as well. +0.5 and 0.0 asian handicap usually have slightly different odds just like the ml and -0.5
