A quick question about a soccer penalty

If a player is shooting on the opposing team's goal and scores and is fouled during the process:

Does the goal count? ie the penalty can be declined or

Does the goal count and there is a subsequent free kick or

Is there no goal and a free kick?

Any clarification would be appreciated.

I think the ref would just play the advantage and allow the goal. He might give a yellow card to the player that committed the foul after the goal if the foul deserves a yellow. I'm not sure if there's an actual rule about this though.

If the referee blows his whistle to award the penalty at any point before the ball crosses the line the game is adjudged to have stopped, so the goal would not be allowed. Other than that, it would be fine for the goal to stand.

Refs will wait to see what happens, but they have to be quick. If the player is fouled, though it's likely it will go in, refs almost always leave it and let the ball go in. If the ref's judgment is bad and it turns out it's not a goal, the incident would have to happen quickly so the ref can give a penalty and maybe a card.

There's no advantage rule in the box to be spoken of. Usually upon contact players drop - the moment they feel the opponent has made the wrong contact, they know it;s gonna be a whistle.

I haven't seen any ref who would allow advantage and then come back to a call in the box.

Outside the box, for sure there's a wait time to see if the advantage materializes. That ought to be short as previous posters mentioned.
