If USA and Portugal finish same points and goal difference
Who goes through?
Same question for USA Versus Ghana?

With Ghana they'd qualify even with an inferior goal diff as they beat them.
For Portugal if Total goals for, against and goal diff are the same and the sides drew in their group game I believe they have a good old fashioned coin toss but I'm not 100% sure on that (so this would happen if Portugal beat Ghana 2-1 and the USA lose 4-0 to Germany in no other situation can there be a coin toss as someone would of scored more goals).
The ranking of each team in each group shall be determined as follows: a) greatest number of points obtained in all group matches;
b) goal difference in all group matches;
c) greatest number of goals scored in all group matches. If two or more teams are equal on the basis of the above three criteria, their rankings shall be determined as follows: d) greatest number of points obtained in the group matches between the teams concerned;
e) goal difference resulting from the group matches between the teams concerned;
f) greater number of goals scored in all group matches between the teams concerned;
g) drawing of lots by the FIFA Organising Committee.

if Ghana wins by 2 and Germany wins by 1, or Germany wins by 2 and Ghana by 1, Ghana advances.

If the usa and Ghana finishes on same points, same goal difference, same amount of goals scored and goals conceded, then the states go through, correct?

yep, but betting Ghana to advance at 6 to 1 right now looks tasty

Yes, but don't forget if Germany wins 1-0 and Ghana wins 2-1, Ghana goes not US.

It's a stupid system; it should be H2H when two teams tie

It is why Portugal will beat Ghana and make it all meaningless.

I think Ghana actually wins, showing how they played vs Germany has me likeing them a lot. Portugal hasn't looks as good as Ghana, I honestly think Ghana 3-1 (and I took USA/tie today). Thursday's gonna be interesting

They want to make the last matches as meaningful as possible. If the first tie-breaker were h2h, USA would have qualified already.
