I don't know much about the CR National roster or the local team rosters but I watched Heredia whoop up on Real Salt Lake a while back and Saprissa and La Liga are the big name teams. The first two have mostly all CR players. The one advantage of being in a small country is these players get more time playing with each other. How would this CR team fare if they were thrown into the MLS regular season schedule?
