Am I missing something, the Netherlands are very weak in midfield?
They will play a 5-3-2 (probably more a 5-3-1-1) formation. Sneijder is now an average player, so who will give the ball to Robben to attack?

With this kind of formation Van Persie will have to be very opportunist to score.

The question here is do you like Chile? I think they will finish in second position, they play in England an amazing game in a friendly game.

ya i dont really like the chile team i think they give up a lot of goals but you have to figure they are better suited for the climate.

i would say they stand a "chance in hell" at least. might only need a draw if things play out right

i think chile did ok last time when they advanced in 2010, much better then the dutch did in euro 2012

It's their defense which is weak.

all this talk about bad defense makes me think its important to note that scoring has dropped every world cup since 1994, the first year when a win was 3 points instead of 2.

netherlands also have a very average defense though. Likes of de Vrij, Vlaar, BMI, Janmaat are nowhere near world-class. Could easily flop in this tournament if Van Persie and Robben dont show up

I'm curious what do you like about the dutch except Van Persie. Rubben was an amazing player, we was one of my favorite when he was playing for Chelsea. He still very good but he's not younger and in Brazil the weather will give him a hard time.

Veltman is far from class...and this is coming from an avid follower of Ajax. He has good potential but he has been at fault for a number of goals this season and was at fault in netherlands recent friendly againdt ecuador for their goal.

Sneijder and van der vaart havent had good seasons with their clubs, especially rdv.

defence isnt the best but veltman is a talent along with blind & krul, vlaar is experienced and some other young defenders could surprise most nations defence suck, van der vaart and sneijder are good enough to shrug off the poor domestic campaigns there completely different for oranje when its world cup time.
