not entirely true. A lot of big teams that are used to Champs League football or who have aspirations of challenging for top 3/4 spots in the league might not be bothered about EL, but for a side like Torino it is still quite appealing as it demonstrates significant progress. Also the EL can act as a stepping stone towards being a solid CL team, it can give you much needed experience which can stand you in good stead when you do finally reach CL.... For instance Atletico Madrid used Europa as a platform last season....it is partly the reason why theyve been so solid in CL this season
