It is actually not confirmed yet. Alan Pardew, Newcastle head man, said that he expects that Ba will sign with Chelsea and does not expect him back, but no official confirmation or agreement has been reached. So saying CONFIRMED when you did is just wrong...

I think when a release clause has been triggered, he is left out of a game after said clause has been triggered and then the manager (Pardew in this case) comes out and says he'll be ok to cope with the loss of the player....it's all BUT confirmed. He is joining Chelski, this much is evident even if the handshakes are yet to be done.

Besides, he'll be out injured by February 1 anyway.
