The problem with backing off of gambling when you are a pro is a big one.
It really is a game of give and take and getting shaken out is the worst move a capper can make.
Betting smaller or using parlays if a lot of plays are generating to reduce risk are good things to try.
Remember though, parlays will pay, but there will be droughts.
In my opinion, less plays or a little less bet per play is better than time off, but it really does depend on why things are going sour.
Time off is to relax, rest and renew.
But it can also be costly. I've always said that if you're around for a capper's losers, better be able to hang around for the winners.
Don't be like JJ Gold, who freaks out after a couple of losses and thinks the shits hitting the fan. I can't emphasize enough that this was a deliberate marekt shakeout that paid and emboldened the public but hit the pros and more sophisticated bettor hard, fast.
Don't let them shake you out, if you do they win for the season because as you come back in, you will miss the winning run and get tied up in another losing run.
Timing getting back in is tough, if you do go out, you have to go now and get back in after the All Star break.
Or do what Brick says and wait out the season until Football (or maybe the MLB playoffs as that's a little different market).

Look at my favorite team of all time the 2015 KC Royals.
I think that season they followed a four game win streak with a four game losing streak four different times.
A little while back I did a study just for shits and giggles on that tail a three game streak adage.
Crash Davis was right when he said "respect the streak"
You know the theory, once a streak (winning or losing) reaches three games then bet it starting with the fourth game and ride it until is ends.
I did the math, most streaks don't end at four, they usually go longer.
It's not a huge money maker, and there are variables involved like baseball odds and such, there's truth to that streak theory.
Remember the 1984 Tigers?
They opened up the season 35 and 5
Using that ride the streak beginning on game 4, you would have gone 17 and 2 in those 35 games.
The Orioles infamous 0 and 21 start in 1988 is a great example.
You're doing OK fading the Snakes this year too.
Ride the streak when it reaches three is simple but there's truth in there.
