First off let me say that this thread should not be taken as an endorsement of Pointbet. I have purposely not used the usual title, Sportsbook of the Day because, even though it was never my intention that those threads be endorsements – only exchanges of information – that title does have a bit of an endorsement vibe.

But I know a lot of players use Pointbet so I think it is good to have an open discussion about all aspects of that – including the risks.

I haven’t used Pointbet so mainly what I can speak to is the risks. The main reason I haven’t used them is because of the uncertainty relating to their location. At one point they were lying to players that they were in the British Virgin Islands because the truth was they were operating illegally in Indonesia.

Until now, I have deemed it too shady and uncertain for me. I would be afraid I would wake up one morning and the operation would be shut down by the government.

My understanding is they have some of the best lines this side of Pinnacle though. So I would be interested to hear what current users say.

I would specifically be interested in the money transfer method you use and how that is handled.

They open lines early and get touched up early. It's a good book to keep an eye on for specific sports even if you don't plan on depositing. I still wouldn't advise a friend to deposit there.

I've been told there has been progress in regards to facilities. banking and licensing. Since the information came from their office I have to respect the source and stop there. I look forward to being able to speak with a gaming-friendly bank to verify their account like we did with 10bet.

PointBet actually might be the only book that has even better lines than Pinny sometimes. I've used them almost a year now and I have nothing negative to say. Everything works well, payouts have been timely and cs is good (English language skills excluded). I never keep more than 2000 € there though because of the location.

They mainly concentrate on soccer, especially asian handicaps but even lines on US sports are very, very competitive.

EDIT: Did not notice the money transfer method question.
I use Moneybookers there and never had any problems.

Very good book for soccer and tennis.

No problems with payouts with the exception of not having Neteller as an option.

Have read some negative discussions regarding the legitimacy of their stated location.

Hmmm. I don't think I can deposit with a book this poorly rated however.
