This movie isn't about sports betting at all...it's about chop shops and get rich quick scams. How is a "great movie for gamblers?"

By the way they filmed this movie like 10 minutes from my house.

Lots of gambling mentality there, plus Seth runs a backdoor card room

This is about the 5th time brock has posted this thread. Affleck is so unconvincing and corny in this scene it's awkward. The movie is not that great. You're living in a fukin dream world pal

Then you tell everyone you were a broker, as if it conjures the image that you were big time like guys in this movie. Embarrassing

Dude ESB. I used this book in 96 also. They actually flew me out to Jamaica fully paid for. I was only 19 years old and I brought my little brother who was 16 years old. They paid for everything. Took me to their operation and offered me a job. They use to have $50 referral bonuses and had contests for referrals which is why they sent me there. I would go on AOL and pitch to so many people. They sent me a laptop and fax machine too. ESB brings back memories.

I loved this movie. Actually hadn't watched it in years but watched it on Netflix just a week ago. Rounds is one of my all time favorites.

To be completely honest with you I don't even remember. I know I wasn't even considering moving to Montego Bay though. I know I did u ESB a long time though. My memory is soooo messed up though. I don't remember a lot of things that weren't even that many years ago. I do remember having a good job out there and my 16 yr old brother at the time having to be brought up stairs by the security guard of the resort because he passed out by the resort's pool one night drunk as all hell. The places was really nice. First time I was outside the US. Really first time away from home too. Bars were right on the beach and we even managed to find some good ol Jamaican weed too.

Exactly. It's all about POWER. A clear allusion to Glengarry Glen Ross.

See this? My watch cost more than your car.

There's even a scene later in the movie where the brokers are all watching "Scarface." Balls = money = power.

Selling stocks is personality driven, understanding customer, selling yourself/lieing/etc.
Winning money betting on sports is math driven and logic driven.

You could say that to be good at selling stocks you have to be smart and to be good at gambling you have to be smart, I agree with that.
Also, you have to be able to be able to deal with defeat in both arenas.

Besides those two aspects I'm not sure how the two are related.

This is not good acting. Also his suit and outfit look cheap as fukk for a millionaire.

Also it does not take 3 months to prepare for the series 7. I crammed for a week and passed it (granted it was close).
