    not so fast

i tend to favor the heat

d wade would have a field day (well play like he has been playing)

mavs would need to speed the game up to try to tire shaq cause shaq would punish them in a slow game

heat have the best chemistry right know which is kinda shocking

    riley gets nod over johnson

mavs gotta get past phoenix 1st

Sorry John but I have to disagree with you on this one.The Heat will be rested, determined and unstoppable in the finals....Shaq wants this one bad and he has the supporting cast to get it.

I do believe the Mavs will finish off the Suns but they will have no answer for Shaq daddy.....

Heat win the championship in 6 games vs Mavs

I agree that Shaq is going to be an unstopable force to the 10th degree. He better start practing his free throws starting tonight.

Other than that matchup the Mavs seem to have the rest.

Do the Mavericks still have to play the Suns? Maybe I should get down on some Maverick action, because John is seeing the future.

Hey John. Maybe you should switch your Spurs avatar to a Mavericks one.

The KEY for me is 2days game. I feel is the Suns can hold court, than the mavs have to play one more game and that will give miami much needed rest and the mavs (who I feel will win the west) not much time off b4 facing a heat team that has 3 guys looking to prove points.
                1. Wade - The last of the BIg 3 of 2003, but the first to play for a ring.
                2. Shaq - To let the Lakers know how much he hates them.
                3. Riley - To get the coveted ring he tried getting with Knicks and Miami before but due to the Jordan era, was unable to.

I would be SHOCKED if Miami did not get the ring!!!

I feel the winner of the west will beat Miami. I would put the Mavs as a big favorite to be that winner but I'm not ready to etch it in stone yet.

I like Wade a lot, but he had the best luck out of the big 3. When the Heat went out and got Shaq.

Im not to sure anyone of these West teams could beat the Heat. If they give the Heat a good price in the series, I may take it. Even though I recently swore off hoops until November....then again maybe not

It will be interesting to see how the Mavs will play Heat should they get to the finals. They can basicly try to slow down Shaq with Diop or Dampier as their big man or let do Diesel have his points and go with Dirk and KVH inside. Shaq could not defend anyone on the small lineup and both Dirk and KVH require constant guard behind the arc. I say hack-a-Shaq with small ball guys will get them better results than actually trying to stop him. Still i think Avery will not go this way and thus my money is on Miami.

Good post Badazz, I agree. Keep in mind Dallas will force the tempo like they did to beat the Spurs. Shaq is much more effective when he can walk the floor.

Well they have two chances and they play pretty good on the road. The game is a pick'em and I could not bet this game. I have loved the suns all season as you may recall but without their big man they are playing on guts while the mavs have real weapons. Guts may be enough today but it wont win many 7 game series.

The Mavs have too much team speed for Miami, imho. The only thing that worries me about the Mavs right now is I really don't like how Terry has been playing the last few games I've tuned in. He has shown real poor recognition in several spots when Phoenix has made a little run and he feels like he can get it back by himself, taking a lot of ill-advised shots early in the shot clock. I don't think it's a question that Wade will get off in this series, so if JT takes it personal and wants to one up him and plays selfishly instead of running the sets, I think this could possibly set Dallas up for a rude awakening. I would like to see M. Daniels get more PT in the finals. And I wouldn't give a huge coaching advantage to Riley in this one, sure he's more experienced, but Avery is one helluva a coach himself. One final thing, I really think Payton will be a detriment to the Heat in the finals if they play Dallas.
