Florida State recruit facing drug charges
when they caught him, they found it stuck up his ass
By Jack Corcoran, Tallahassee (Fla.) Democrat
Five-star basketball recruit Jon Kreft was arrested on drug charges Thursday in South Florida, jeopardizing his future at Florida State.
Kreft was arrested by Coral Springs police and charged with felony cocaine possession. The 7-foot, 240-pound center was also charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession and drug-paraphernalia possession.

Ranked by Rivals as the No. 29 prospect in the 2006 recruiting class, Kreft starred at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland. He committed to FSU almost two years ago, before his stock began to soar. Now he's in danger of losing his scholarship.

"We'll wait until the police report and all the details are on our desk, and then we'll make a decision based on those facts," FSU athletic director Dave Hart said on Friday.

FSU rules prohibit student-athletes from competing while under felony charges. Hart said he would not support admitting a student-athlete facing felony charges.

"If it warrants retracting the scholarship, we have done that and would do that," Hart said. "In that case, we don't assess sport or talent or anything else. We just do the right thing."

Through a spokesman, FSU coach Leonard Hamilton declined comment until he can gather additional information.

The cocaine weighed approximately 1.7 grams, according to the report.

This could be devastating for the Seminoles, who not long ago appeared to have everything lined up for an outstanding campaign in 2006-07. But now they're facing major questions in the frontcourt and could be hurting for bodies. Center Alexander Johnson has said he intends to remain in the NBA Draft. FSU has not released an update on the status of power forward Ryan Reid, who failed to academically qualify last season.

FSU finished 20-10 overall and 9-7 in the ACC last season. Four starters, including Johnson, are eligible to come back next season. High-scoring Auburn transfer Toney Douglas will also be eligible.

Kreft played in the Jordan All-American Classic on April 22 in New York.

Ahhh, the only 5 star recruit they ever have had at least in the recent 7 years or so.

Oh well, if he can play. all evidence will somehow mysteriously disappear.

He's not a 5 star recruit. He's in deep shit now.

He's the #72 player overall accorduing to scout.com.

I looked it up because I've never heard of the guy and that is why. i follow all the top guys and never heard of him. Thats's why. He's actually more a middle average 4 star too. Some 4 stars are 5 stars with the rating on the line like a JJ Redick.

Basketball ratings are alot more accurate than Football.

Hell football had AJ Hawk as a 3 star and Reggie Bush as a 4 star.
