If that were even true, it would still more money than you see in an entire year!

The beauty is that in Canada, we don't pay tax on our winnings, which means that entire $43K went to me, tax free...

This statement means one of the following is true:

a) You have an "actual job"
b) You are going to be in a world of pain when the government audits you

Gambling winnings in Canada are taxable if the winnings are "consistent and predictable". If you gamble for a living and pay 0 tax, you should go visit an accountant and have your eyes opened. If however you have a job then it is easy to say you just won an online jackpot and are not a professional gambler.

I think you are a huge square for depositing a cheque of that size into your CIBC or wherever you bank. There are much better ways to get money from books and into your hands
