betcris Weekly Review May 1st
All the talk this week was the 2006 NFL draft. For the last 4 months all the talk has been Reggie Bush as a ‘sure thing’ to be drafted first overall by the Houston Texans. The Texans however decided to go with defense and selected Mario Williams when everybody was thinking it was a smoke screen to lower Bush’s contract $$. We usually hate taking bets on things like the NFL draft simply because you need to keep your eyes glued to every news service in the country. Needless to say, just about every customer we had knew about Houston signing Mario Williams on Friday, a day before the draft than we did! Reluctantly we had top pay that prop as well as many others to cap off ‘Donation Day’ to our customers.
NBA is well and truly into the playoffs now, with most series going as they should, except Phoenix and the Lakers. This series especially has received a lot of action from our customers. Kobe Bryant seems like a man on a mission after missing out on the MVP award which went to Steve Nash and in this series Kobe is definitely leading his team in a MVP type of way.
NHL bettors are enjoying a closer type of playoffs so far with all series so far in a tight struggle at 3-2 after 5 games. After a month of action, baseball is well and truly into their season and every day it seems the action generated is more and more. Boston and the Yankees series starts today and with Johnny Damon swap from Boston to New York, the rivalry can only be stronger. We expect some huge money to be bet on this series. First and second half betting on baseball continues to get stronger, but this week it was all good results for our customers on the halftime betting. The week in review took a week off last week due to this writers honeymoon, but I trust everybody enjoyed a winning week.
