NHL playoffs. Ottawa/Tampa series tied 1-1. 4 minutes into the third period of game 3, Ottawa are leading by 3. Heated words are exchanged between Chris Neil (Ottawa) and Chris Dingman (Tampa). They "agree" to fight. Dingman drops the gloves but Neil "turtles." Dingman takes a few shots at him but Neil is not fighting back.
With his team down by 3 goals, Dingman gets a 5 minute major for fighting and 2 more for instigating. What was a steep uphill climb for Tampa basically becomes game over.
Ottawa scores on the power play and eventually win 8-4 and go up 2-1 in the series.
So what do you think? Smart play by Neil?
Or is he a coward for breaking a "tough guy code?"
