I've only had it for about 5 minutes but I'm impressed. I used to use Netscape on at least on monitor because of the tabbed browsing but it couldn't view all websites correctly. Same with Firefox. Tabbed browsing was cool but didn't work with all sites unless you had the IE engine add-on running.

Tabbed browsing is a must for line shoppers, especially if you only have one monitor.

For you guys that are diehard FireFox users, what do you think? Will IE now be the only browser needed?

ok, "refresh" and "stop" buttons are in an awkward place away from the URL.

I wouldn't use Explorer even if it gave me a handjob every time I launched it.

yea, that would be the end of bringing the laptop to Starbucks.

What's the reason for wanting to avoid using it?

          1. Due to the combination of ActiveX, scripting, and its integration with the Windows operating system, Internet Explorer is more vulnerable to attack than many other browsers.
          2. The designers of Internet Explorer have purposely turned their back on the standards designed to benefit the Internet as a whole. They have done this for years, continue to do it today, and appear to have nothing but their own interests at heart.

I used the Internet Explorer 7 Beta , I think it was 8 months ago? Not sure on the time table. I do know it wont hurt Firefox. It is still loads sites slow as hell and you can customize Firefox to do anything basically. Even view IE only pages in a IE tab inside Firefox. With the speed and customizable features of Firefox, Microsoft will probably have to pay me to switch back to IE.

I have Firefox set up with the IE engine and it doesn't view the complete pages, especially html editors. If Fireforx or Netscape had worked I wouldn't be using IE now. Maybe I didn't have it set up right.

I guess if Firefox worked perfectly with all sites we wouldn't also have to have IE.

The IE Tab extension has worked great for me thus far, in Firefox. I havent needed to use IE to view the SBRlines and things that needs IE.

Yea, that's not very appetizing. But, most of the hack jobs I have known of are due to network vulnerability.

Well, after initially thinking I had a life-changing piece of software I am ready to uninstall this piece of crap. Maybe I'll try it out again when it's beyond Beta but I can't get programs to launch or log in to certain banking sites. Like Onlooker pointed out, it has been noticeably slower.

I'd like to take this opportunity to apologize to everyone who wasted their time on this due to my thread.

I just assumed that because it was IE it would be compatible with the same sites the old IE is. It turned out to be almost as bad as Netscape.

Im telling you Bill, get the newer Firefox (1.5 I think) and install the IE Tab extension. Pages I have problems with in Firefox, I just switch the engine to IE with IE tab and the page is good to go.

I put links to the good extensions here:
