lackey was the owners signing. the freaked out and over paid him after the didn't get a free agent pitcher.

the crawford thing is weird. he had a higher K% and lower walk rate than at any season. he also had a lower BABIP than he has every had. this season could be just a bad season. i could go look at his babip at fenway in the previous years and see if he just hits lower there but the sample size isn't high enough. for that matter, one season of a lower babip than his career isn't a large enough sample.

well that is the reason guys want to go play for boston and new york becasue they pay premium money. almost all players on those teams are overpaid. the only exception are guy that bring up in the farm systems, but talking about theo and drafting is another topic.

Sucks to me as a Boston guy, as Theo was a total DOUCHEBAG and gets Way more credit than he deserves for the RedSox winning in 04.

He threw a temper tantrum, walked out because the rest of the execs wanted to trade Hanley for
Beckett and a 'throw in/salary dump" World Series MVP Mike Lowell. W/out that trade not sure the Sox would have broken the streak.

Obviously the guy has talent and is better than average, but the only reason I will never cheer for the Cubbies is because of him.
