Getting a 0.60% return on my fixed investment plus Obama is doing his best to destroy the country. Fuk that shit I'll take the 10% hit now because I got a felling these coksuckers will end up taxing the living shit out of it later.

Who says I'm going to live to 59.5 anyways?

Stupidest thing you can ever do. No one says you'll live to 59.5, but 30 dollars a week makes 1 million when you retire if you do your homework and can attain a 7% return. Id rather not be broke when i retire than to get a extra fix in.

I was explaining to my friend that if he invested 5% of his income into his 401k for the last 4 years he wud of had 16,000 in there from a total contribution of 6,000. Yet these idiots still dont understand what compound interest is.

401k don't generally pay out until you're 65, there's two basic advantages to a 401k: no tax deductions and employer match, if you're not contributing the 3% when your employer is offering to match, you're leaving essentially 100% cash bonuses on the table

My girlfriends work matches 4% and she makes around 65K a year.

She was only doing 2% when she got the job at age 22, she asked me to look at her papers she'd be getting from her 401K, I told her she best be putting in 4% since it's all free money, and we're not hurting to get that extra 2% in the paycheck anyways.

I would lay -250 that this coming from someone will a healthy amount of savings. Everyone should save a minimum of 10% earnings each year.

Let the government take care of you when your older. Good thinking. They have the best facilities.
